I am a nerd. That first and foremost is what I am and what I love being. For me being a nerd has a lot of advantages. I like getting into not just how to do something but the Why that works. I have used my nerd skills on barbecue. I wasn't always a master of the pit. At first I had some crazy experience, for example getting the food done 5-6 hours after we were going to eat. Being a nerd I sat down and did some research, talked with some experts, and did a lot of experimenting. I still enjoy doing experimenting. New rubs and even brines/marinades for pork and chicken. Unique sauces for you to top your barbecue with. I mean I love doing it all.
